bronze panels with a frame of oak
and marble. The corner shields are
of enamel.

sington. A silver mirror back designed by
her is illustrated on page 130.

COOPER, J. Paul, Grove House,
Hunton, near Maidstone.
Mr. Paul Cooper is an architect and
worker in metal. Several examples
of his craftsmanship are shown on
page 132. Thehotwater jug, teapot
and buckle are executed in silver, the
pair of candlesticks in copper, and
the casket on the left in shagreen and
silver. The design on the other
casket is in gesso. Simplicity of de-
sign and admirable workmanship
characterise every article Mr. Cooper produces,
and in the craft which he follows with such dis-
tinction he has few rivals in England at the
present time.

CLARKSON, Frank Finley, North-
allerton, Yorkshire.
Mr. Frank Clarkson is a designer of and
craftsman in silver, copper and bronze, and
his work has been shown at the last two
exhibitions of the Arts and Crafts Society
held in London. His casket illustrated on
page 131 is executed in steel and silver.

CLARKSON, George Henry, 10Prin-
cess Street, Sunderland.
Mr. George Clarkson designs and executes
jewelry, enamels, and objects in gold, silver
and bronze. His recent important works in-
clude “ The Standard Bearer,” in enamel and
bronze, and “ St. George,” a panel in enamel,
both exhibited at the Royal Academy and re-
produced on page 131 ; a bronze medallion por-
trait, exhibited at the Salon, Paris; a bronze
medallion portrait exhibited at the Milan Ex-
hibition and awarded a silver medal ; a por-
trait in enamel of the late Brooke-Foss West-
cott, Bishop of Durham, set in a frame of bronze
and precious stones; and “The Crucifixion” in
Limoges enamel, shown at the last exhibition
of the Arts and Crafts Society held in London.
