PANEL IN UNDERGLAZE FAIENCE, “THE FAIRIES
AT THE CHRISTENING,” DESIGNED BY M. E. THOMP-
SON, EXECUTED BY DOULTON AND CO., LTD.

sociation, and also at the Victoria
and Albert and other museums.
Illustrations of Ruskin Pottery ap-
peared in The Studio Year Books for
1907 and 1908. The chief beauty
of Mr. Howson Taylor’s “Ruskin”
pottery is the delightful colouring
of the glazes, and it will, therefore,
be readily understood that it is im-
possible to do full justice to the
examples in a black-and-white re-
production. But some idea of the
forms and decoration may be
gathered from the illustrations.

THOMPSON, Miss Margaret E., 8
Siherdale, Sydenham, London.
Miss Thompson designs pottery for Messrs.
Doulton & Co., of Lambeth, and book illustra-
tions in colour and black-and-white. Her tiles
have been used for the decoration of children’s
wards in University College Hospital, London ;
Newcastle Infirmary, and hospitals at Llanelly,
Hastings, and Poonah. Her pottery has been
shown at various International Exhibitions
under Messrs. Doulton’s name. Some of her
designs appeared in The Studio Year Book, 1906,
while two are illustrated on this page.
