phase belonged to the 4th century BC) may
be dated to the 3rd pre-Christian century. It
is 12 cm long and 5 cm wide and its point is
markedly worn (Fig. 3:2). A similar shape
and size may be observed in a small ard-share
from the site of Novy-Bydzov (Fig. 3:1).
Though this find is commonly dated to Late
La Tene, i.e. to the 1st century BC (Rybova,
Motykova 1983 with further references), it
was unearthed during old excavations of the
site settled since the 4th-3rd century BC, the
