Bundespräsident Professor Theodor Heuss
besuchte inoffiziell die HfG, wie er sagte,
einem langgehegten Wunsche folgend. Nach
einer ausführlichen Aussprache über Aufbau
und Arbeit der HfG wurde Professor Heuss
durch die Abteilungen und Werkstätten
geführt. Während seines Aufenthaltes zeigte
Professor Heuss durch zahlreiche Fragen und
Hinweise Interesse und Anerkennung für
Arbeit und Ziele der HfG.

Professor Theodor Heuss, President of the
German Federal Republic, fulfilled a long-
standing desire and made a private visit to
the HfG. After a discussion of the Organi-
zation and work of the HfG, Professor Heuss
was shown the departments and workshops.
Düring his stay, Professor Heuss asked many
questions and showed a great interest in and
recognition of the work and aims of the HfG.


Von der HfG eingeladen, feierte die »Gruppe
47« (eine Vereinigung junger deutscher
Schriftsteller, Kritiker und Verleger) den
Abschluß ihrer Herbsttagung in der HfG.

On invitation of the HfG, the Group 47
(an association of young German writers,
critics and editors) had the final gathering
of their 1958 autumn meeting in the school.

Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart, Dozent
in der Abteilung Visuelle Kommunikation,
eröffnet im Hamburger Künstlerclub »Die
Insel« am 4. November, eine Ausstellung
seiner Bilder. Sie schließt sich an eine Reihe
inländischer Ausstellungen an. Im Rahmen
der Internationalen Sommerakademie in Salz-
burg hielt er einen Vortrag über das Thema
»Elementare Kräfte in der Bildgestaltung«.

Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart, professor
in the visual communication department,
opens an exhibition of his pictures in the
Hamburg artists’ club ‘Die Insel’ on November
4th. It followed a series of other exhibitions
in Germany and abroad. Düring the Salzburg
International Summer Seminar he gave a
lecture on ‘Elementary Forces in Visual
Creation’.

Dipl.-Ing. Herbert Ohl, Dozent in der
Abteilung Bauen, studierte von Juli bis
September im Auftrag des Landesgewerbe-
amtes Stuttgart und der HfG den gegen-
wärtigen Stand der Entwicklung und An-
wendung industriell gefertigter Bauteile in
England. Er untersuchte Bedarf, Planung,
Materialanwendung und Produktions-
bedingungen strukturell und nicht-strukturell
verwendeter Bauteile und informierte sich
durch Interviews in Industrie und Organi-
sationen.

Dipl. Ing. Herbert Ohl, professor in the in-
dustrialized building department, studied
from July until September, at the request of
the Stuttgart Industrial Trade Association
and the HfG, the present state of the develop-
ment and application of industrially-produced
building components in England. He investi-
gated demand, planning, use of materials,
and production processes of structural and
non-structural building components by
interviewing Industries and organizations.

M. Theodor Heuss, Präsident de la Räpu-
blique Fedärale Allemande, a rendu ä la
Hochschule für Gestaltung une visite non-
officielle, räalisant ainsi «... un projet qu’il
caressait depuis bien longtemps», — pour
reprendre ses propres paroles. Apräs une
vive discussion sur le travail et l’organisation
de l’Ecole, M. Heuss visita les sections et les
ateliers. Tout au long de sa visite, qui dura
plusieurs heures, M. Heuss posa de nom-
breuses questions, sans cacher l’interet qu’il
porte au travail et aux buts poursuivis ä la
HfG.

festation devait marquer la derniäre d’une
serie d’expositions präsentäes en Allemagne.
M. Vordemberge-Gildewart vient de tenir une
Conference au Seminaire International de
Salzbourg, sur le thäme: «Les forces elämen-
taires dans la creation visuelle».
M. Herbert Ohl, architecte-ingänieur, pro-
fesseur ä la section d’industrialisation du
bätiment, a ete Charge d’ätudier par le
«Landesgewerbeamt» de Stuttgart et la HfG,
l’emploi et le developpement actuel des
eläments prefabriques dans la construction.
En s’informant directement aupres des
industries et des organisations competentes,
il a analysä les moyens et les mäthodes de
planification et de production, ainsi que
l’utilisation des eläments structurels et non-
structurels dans la construction.
