Horst Rittei, Dozent für mathematische
Planungs- und Operationsanalyse, Metho-
dologie, Informationstheorie, Wissenschafts-
theorie und allgemeine Mechanik, hielt auf
dem XVIII. Kongreß des »Institut Inter-
national de Sociologie« in Nürnberg (10. bis
17. September 1958) einen Vortrag über das
Thema »Kommunikationstheorie und Sozio-
logie.«
Dr. M. W. Perrine, Mitglied des Perception
Center an der Universität Princeton, USA,
kam an die HfG, um mit Hilfe einer Stiftung
der Ford-Foundation die erste europäische
Dependence des Perception Center ein-
zurichten. Das Institut für optische Wahr-
nehmungslehre soll an der HfG mit den
Abteilungen Visuelle Kommunikation und
Information Zusammenarbeiten. Dr. Perrine
wird auch Vorlesungen über Wahrnehmungs-
theorie und Sozialpsychologie halten.
Tomas Maldonado, Dozent für Visuelle
Methodik und Semiotik, sprach über die
Ausbildung des Produktgestalters an dem
Institute of Contemporary Arts, London
(April 1957), an der Königlichen Akademie
für Bildende Künste, Kopenhagen (Novem-
ber 1957), in der Deutschen Botschaft und
an der Kunstgewerbeschule, Stockholm
(November 1957), schließlich auf der Welt-
ausstellung, Brüssel (September 1958).
Dr. Hanno Kesting, Dozent für Soziologie,
veröffentlicht Ende des Jahres 1958 im
Universitätsveriag Carl Winter ein Buch mit
dem Titel »Geschichtsphilosophie und Welt-
bürgerkrieg, Deutungen der Geschichte von
der französischen Revolution bis zum Ost-
West-Konflikt«.
Otl Aicher, Dozent in der Abteilung Visuelle
Kommunikation, leitete von März bis Juni
1958 an der Yale-Universität, USA, einen
Kurs für Typografie und Plakatentwurf.
Am 26. April nahm er als Vertreter Deutsch-
lands teil an dem 1. internationalen
Typografie-Kongreß des Type Directors Club,
New York, in Silvermine, Conn. Im Rahmen
der Tagung »The Art and Science of Typo-
graphy« hielt er einen Vortrag über das
Thema »Die mißverstandene Anwendung der
Elemente moderner Kunst in der heutigen
Typografie«.

gave a lecture on ‘Communication Theory
and Sociology’ at the eighteenth congress
of the International Institute of Sociology in
Nuremberg (10/17-9-58).

Dr. M. W. Perrine, from the Perception Centre

HfG in Order to establish an Institute for
Visual Perception on a grant of the Ford
Foundation. The Institute will cooperate with
the visual communication and information
departments of the HfG. Dr. Perrine will also
give lectures on perception theory and social
psychology.
Le 25 octobre, M. M. W. Perrine, membre
du «Perception Center of Princeton» (USA),
est arrivö ä la HfG. Avec le soutien financier
de la Fondation Ford, il doit y ötablir et
diriger un Institut de Recherches sur la
perception visuelle. Cet Institut collaborera
avec les sections de communication visuelle
et d'information de la HfG. De plus,
M. Perrine tiendra un cours sur la theorie
de la perception et la Psychologie sociale.
