Ce qui distingue la décoration de ce plat en faïence de vieux
''°uon, c'est la disposition de huit bandes ornées partant du
niarly et arrivant au centre. Les champs intermédiaires, où le
'ond blanc domine, sont meublés de corbeilles de (leurs et de
guirlandes, tracées d'une main sûre et dans -une gamme on ne
l'eut plus harmonieuse.

The peculiar characteristic of this dish of old Rouen earthen-
ware is the arrangement of the eight ornamental bands run-
ning from the inner edge of the rim to the centre. The inter-
vening spaces, in which the white ground prédominâtes, are
occupied by baskets of flowers and wreaths drawn with a sure
hand and with a most harmonious effect.
