Ces bandes ornées, ces fragments de marqueterie, appar-
tiennent à un médailler qui se voit dans l'une des salles de la
Bibliothèque impériale. Ces ornements, d'un goût pur, déco-
rent les montants et les traverses du meuble et sont, à n'en
pas douter, du maître célèbre qui nous a laissé tant de chefs-
d'œuvre en ce genre. (Moitié d« l'exécution.)

Thèse ornated bands and fragments of marquetry belong
to a cabinet of madals which is to be seen in one of the rooms
of the Bibliothèque impériale. The ornaments, of a chaste
style, adorn the uprights and crossbars of the fabric, and
doubtless are the work of the celebrated artist who left us so
many master-pieces of that kind (half size of the exécution).
