ACQUISITIONS
A n t i q u e Art:

68 objects; inter alia 19 various objects of Cyprus Art donated by the Museum in Nicosia as
an equivalent for monuments discovered in the course of excavation work conducted by a Polisb
party of archcologists under the direction of Prof. Kazimierz Michałowski (fig. 10).

Paintings:

35 pictures of old Polish painters, the best among them are:
Piotr Michałowski, A Moroccan willi the horse, canvas.
Artur Grottger, Portait of Klementyna Dzieduszycka, canvas.
Jacek Malczewski, Portrait of the artist Helena Sulima, canvas.
Witold Wojtkiewicz, Gipsy, canvas.

15 pictures by foreign painters, the best among them are:

Abraham Begeyn, Still Life, canvas.

Cornelis van Haarlem, Feast of Bacchus, wood.

Franęois Gerard, Portrait of Stanisław Mniszek, canvas (fig. 12).

James Backer Pyne (?), Seascape, canvas.

Kees van Dongen, Portrait of Antoine, canvas (donation of Antoine Cierplikowski) (fig. 14).
The Museum got donation of 6 and purchased 72 pictures by contemporary Polish Painters;
inter alia Zbigniew Pronaszko, Stanisław Osostowicz, Eugeniusz Zak, Tadeusz Brzozowski,
Ludomir Slendziński.

Franęois Dumont, Portrait of Franciszek Sapieha, guache on ivory.

Sculpture s:

18 pieces of Polish sculpture, among them 16 works of contemporary artists.
