between the two types and the lack of development in Marinus’ style
throughout his oeuvre. Therefore type III paintings shall be disregarded for the

The Two Tax Collectors in Warsaw is one version of a theme, which has
repeatedly been depicted by Marinus and his workshop, as he also repeated his
