CHINESE FIRE AGAIN

The recent incidents
in Southern Ladakh,
where seventeen Indian
lives were lost due to
the firing of the Chines*
troops is not only alurm
ing but very serious. At
a time when whole world
was of the opinion that
the Chinese are ready to
sottle the border issues
peacefully this voilent
action is surprising. This
incident invokes many
complicated issues be-
cause it took place well
within Indian territory
and where there are
Indian population.

It has been roported
that the Chinese troops
fired on Indian policy
petrol when this party
was out in search of two
missing Indian police
force. Sri Krishna Menon
India's defence Minister
is fully justified in con-
demning the Chinese ao
tion and asking the Chi
nese troops to withdraw
from the Indian territory.

This inoident no
doubt is a great blow
to Sino-Indian friendship
and we hope our National
Government will take

timely action and will
devise measures to make
the Chinese desist fiom
further acts of aggression
and attack.
