By A. Q. Ansari, President, B. P. C. C.

[t has been rightly
said that the greatest
requirement of the mo

a proper appraisal of
Shri £\ehru, the Titan of
the twentieth century,
his profound hope in the
destiny of our mother-
land, hia unflinching faith,
his superhuman courage
and hia robust optimism.

A few statesmen in
tlie present century have
atttiia?d the stature of
Jiwaharlal vNehru our
Prime Minister. His is
tin only towering figure
in I idis'a era pf transi-
tion. He is the l-gend*ry
Cilossua who bistrides
this sub continent from
the foot of the Himalayas
to the f irthest tip of Cape
Cotnarin. lh* masses
ganerite him and he, in
hi* tarn, generates the
inasiaa. He is a Caesar
in tho atat\ire of his
graatneas but not a Kasci-
st. He is the symbol (if
A (it's p ilitioal awakening
and the only spokesman
in the world assembly,
who amidst the clash of
wirri ig ideologies. Jingoi-
sm, chauvinism sham a and
shibboleths, pleads for a
'middle way', a rational
solution- of international
wranglea on principles of
Panctisheel and Peaceful

r.

Oo-exislence. He brings
to the international Bpheie
the principles of morality
enunciated, preached and
practised by the Father
of the Nation, our Bapu

and Sweetness in a 'sput-
nik' ridden world, with
missiles flyii g and 'luniks'
