SOCIETY FORMED BY
MOUNTAINEERS

Calcutta, Aug. 30
Tho members of the
Nanda Ghunti and Mana
Expeditions have formed
an association, called Par-
vat Abhiyatri Sengha, in
Calcutta, with Mr. Asoka
Kumar Sarkar, Editor,
Anauda Bazar Patiika, as
its president. Its aim is
to further the cause of
mountaineering, Wtst Ben-
gal.

A State owned pbyto-

oottage industry basis
will be set up at Kungpo
in Dar jeehng for the ma-
nufacture of digitalis tab-
lets, tincture ipeoao and
other products of ipecac
roots.

This was announced
at a meeting of the Me-
dicinal Plants Committee
held at Writers Building,
Calcutta on Tuesday by
the State Minister, Dr.
P K. Guba. It was also
disclosed that the Govern-
ment bad deeided to un.
dertake on an experimen-

Construction of tourist
lodges at places of interest
in West Bengal was one
of the suggestions made
by the Chief Minister, Mr,
P. C. Sen, at the State
Touriet Advisory Board
meeting in Calcutta on
Wednesday.

said, proposed to build
lodges at Dai'gapur, Ber-
hampore, DerjeeliDg San-
tiniketan. Maid .a, Kaiim-
pong, Digha and Bishnu-
pur.
