WISE DECISION

The Darjeeling Distriot
unit of the All India
Qorkha League has decided
to suspend all political
aotivitiea till the emer-
gency lasts. This decision
has been welcomed in all
quarters. Gorkhn League
is undoubtedly the most
influential party in this
region and the party's
decision will help tn a
great extent, tu check the
activities of Communists.
For this Gorkha Lsague
workers shall have to go
to interior villages and
the tea gardens. It ha3
been learnt Lb-it Gorkha
League leaders & Congress
leaders have jjintly started
to counteract the C imtnu-
nist propaganda I he un-
derstanding between these
two parties shall go a
long way in removing
false impressions created
so far by the Communists.

The morale of the
peopl- h.is always remai-
ned high. Prices have not
gone up. Grow more food
campaign i« being laun-
ched in the interiors. All
hese indicat-j people's
determination to meet
auy situation.

239 INDIAN PRISONERS
RELEASED SO FAR

The Indian Red Cross
has so far received 239
bick & .vouikieri Indian pri-
soners from their Chinese
counterpart. The body of
the two prisoners who died
while in Chinese custody
were also received. Tie
