astronomical figurated diagrams by Ostend orfer, some having 7 or 8
movable dises attached to them and with many nice initials by Brosame r.

Schönes, von alter Hand prachtvoll kolor., absolut vollständiges Exemplar. — Unser Expl. besitzt — im
Gegensatz zu den meisten Expln. (die nur 59 Bll. besitzen) 60 ungez. Bll.: auf Bll. 58 verso der Druck-
vermerk von 1540 in Spiegelschrift; Bl. 59 das prachtvolle Wappen (Insignia Petri Apiani) in blatl-
großem Holzschnitt, Bll. 60 endlich die Urkunde über die 1541 erfolgte Wappen Vermehrung mit Holz-
schniltabbildung d. Insignia priora et posteriora.
Extremely rare, quite complete standard-work on Astronomy, of greatest intcrest both for the cuts and
for the contents. The 35 very intcresting full-page platcs, with frames of six different patterns and
with movable dises are by Ostendorfer. All these cuts are skillfully coloured
by an old hand. The fine initials with astronomers and geometricians in the design are
attribued by Dodgson (II, p. 396, 7) to Hans Brosamer.
This work is not only of great value owing lo its .curious cuts and imporlant contents, but is also
a masterpiccc of typographical art. The ai rangement of the printing, the rieh
ornamentation, the great number of cuts, and the different kinds of beautiful types are indeed ad-
mirable.
Stamp on the first title. Otherwise a fine und quite complete copy with all movable parts
wonderfully coloured by an old hand.
Copies in a such well-preserved condition are nearly undiscoverable!
