PONTE NOMENTANO.

At about a mile's distance from the church of S. Costanza in Rome,
we arrive at the bridge Nomentanus, commonly called Ponte Lamen-
tano, built over the Teverone ; and erected at the same time with the
Ponte Salaro, by Narses, the victorious general of the Emperor Justinian.

PONTE NOMENTANO.
