Ad II: Hou ze au et Lancaster I, 4942. —■ On titles autograph entries, of
the “Landgraf von Hessen” in which he states that this copy was presented to him
by Georg Hartmann. Hartmann was a mathematician and inventor (see
Jöcher).
Some pages are slightly damp stained else a good copy with bookplate of the library
of Nordkirchen.

Catalogue says “the r a r i ty of these Ephemerides is such that Delamb re was
unable te see a copy.” First edition published by Stoeffler alone.
For the fine portrait see Pa S; savant III, 392, 61. — A stain on the titlepage
and a few holes, one of them affecting a few letters, the first Ivs. a little loose,
otherwise a fine copy of a very rare and interesting work.

numerous fine woodcuts in the text. Gothic types. Title red and black.
Fol. Orig. blind-tooled calf with clasps (one missing) . f 275.—
Nijhoff en Kronenberg 403. Le Long p. 581. Panzer VI, 18 no. 159.,—
Almost the same translation as in the Bible of 1528, an imitation of the translation
by Liesveld after the text of the Complutensis. The remarkable woodcuts are probably
by Jan Swart and N. Beets. With printer’s mark of Mart. Kayser, on title,
his monogram. — Old ownership entry on title, the first Ivs. a little repaired, the
last leaf mounted, insignif. stains, otherwise a good copy of this beautiful and
very scarce bible, with good impressions of the remarkable woodcuts.
