COLOURED RELIEF FOR A SEMI-CIRCULAR FRIEZE

RUSHTON, George, School of Art,
High Street, Ipswich.
Mr. Rushton, who is the principal of the School
of Art at Ipswich, is a designer of metal-work
and a craftsman in all forms of interior decora-
tion, including coloured reliefs of figure com-
positions and shipping. He has executed several

of the latter for the big liners. He has also
carried out some large mural panels, represent-
ing historical scenes, for public offices in NewT-
castle, and several friezes and panels for private
houses.
SARGANT - FLORENCE, Mrs.
Mary, Lord's Wood, Marlow, Bucks.
Mrs. Sargant-Florence is a designer of mural
decoration and a worker in tempera for fres-
coes. She has been engaged for some time on a
series of frescoes for Oakham Old School
in Rutland representing “ The Story of
Garath.” One of these is illustrated here,
and cartoons for two others were repro-
duced in the February number of The
Studio, 1906, when they were shown at the
Arts and Crafts Exhibition at the Grafton
Galleries, London.
SMYRK, Herbert, Ruskin House,
Rochester Row, Westminster, London.
Mr. Smyrk is a designer of stained glass
windows and interior decoration. He is
associated with Messrs. William Morris &
Co. of Westminster, who executes his de-
signs in stained glass.
STODDART, Andrew, The Studio,
Long Row, Nottingham.
Mr. Stoddart is an artist in stained glass.
He has recently executed windows for
Kelawei House, Penang, S.S.,The Carnegie
Free Library, Long Eaton (reproduced on
page 72); the Presbyterian Church, Derby;
St. Barnabas’ Church, Southfields ; Derby
Public Baths ; “ The Lawn,” Rugby ; and
