Herr Gornik is a young sculptor whose

animal studies, executed in bronze,
have gained him many admirers
in Vienna and elsewhere. He is
a member of the “ Kiinstlerhaus,”
where he always exhibits, and
his work has been shown in the
various art centres of Germany.
He has also designed several foun-
tains. The two groups, “ Pan-
thers ” and “ Bears,” reproduced on
pages 139 and 140, were executed
in bronze by Herr A. Rubenstein.
GURSCHNER, Gustav,
Lindengasse 7, Vienna VII.
Herr Gustav Gurschner has gained
considerableprominence by his bronzes, jewelry,
plaquettes, and other objets d’avt. His most
recentworkinsculpture is thememorialto com-
memorate themeetingof King Edward VII. and
the Emperor Francis Joseph at Marienbad in
1905. He also designed and executed prizes for
the Gordon Bennett, Herkomer and other auto-
mobile races, and some of these have been
illustrated in The Studio. His latest work,
the gold chain of office for the Burgomaster
