SILVER CUP DESIGNED AND EXECUTED BY A. VON MAYRHOFER

MAYRHOFER, Adolf von, 41 Win-
thirstrasse, Munich.
Herr Mayrhofer is a metal chaser and worker
in silver. He was represented at the Exhibi-
tion at Dresden in 1906 and Munich in 1908
by notable displays of metal-work, including
table ware, goblets, presentation cups, &c. all
executed from his own designs. Three of his
silver cups are reproduced on this
and the preceding page.

MILLS, Mrs. Ernestine, 21
St. Mary Abbot's Terrace, Kensing-
ton, London.
Mrs. Mills designs and executes en-
amels and metal-work. Her trip-
tych, “Peace, War, and Famine,”
exhibited at the last exhibition
of the Arts and Crafts Society
in London, was purchased by the
Manchester Corporation for the
Municipal School of Art. She was
also awarded a gold medal for her morse and
other enamels at the Milan Exhibition. Ex-
amples of her work have appeared on several
occasions in The Studio. Her panel illustrated
on page 150 is executed in translucent enamel
on copper.

MESSNER, Prof. Franz,
The Imperial Bau- und Gewerbe-
schule, Tetschen, Bohemia.
Prof. Messner is a young architect
who has recently removed from
Vienna to Tetschen, in Bohemia,
where he is a Professor in the
Technical School (Staats Hand-
werkschule) for artizans. His work
here is interesting, and his sound
theoretical and practical know-
ledge of considerable value. He
has designed the interiors and de-
corations of several houses in
Vienna, Prague and elsewhere, and
has recently erected some work-
men’s dwellings in Kladno, Bohe-
mia. He has also designed and
executed some jewelry which was
exhibited at the “ Secession,” of
