exerted some influence. Conseąuently the altarpiece
in the Frombork cathedral can be considered as one
of the interesting examples of the afterlife of Roman
Cinąuecento painting in the Roman circles of Maratti
and Baldi c. 1700, an example totally compatible with
Maratti’s artistic theory and precious also because of
its comparatively high ąuality. Various paradigms
have been fused here to create a new, individual work

from the continuation and modification of the artistic
