Naumburg, who some
years ago had his circle
of admirers as a painter,
is now one of the busiest
architects and interior
decorators in Germany.
He has contributed much
to the correction of taste
by fighting against the
confusion of style caused
by thoughtless imitation.
He is convinced that
individualism in house-
building and house-fur-
nishing must mean first
of all practicability and
that practicability is iden-
tical, or, at all events,
compatible with comfort
and beauty. When he
builds a castle or a villa,
his first considerations are
the requirements of the
