Chronicie of the National Museum in Krakowi
Numismatic Cabinet (2013)
The most significant event of the year 2013 was the ofhcial inauguration of
the Emeryk Hutten-Czapski Museum, the oldest branch of the National Museum
in Kraków. On 27 June 2013, after 70 years of absence, the permanent exhibition
comprising the most valuable specimens from the collections of the Numismatic
Cabinet was madę open to the public.'
Many notable guests attended the inauguration ceremony: Izabella Godlews-
ka de Aranda, the great-granddaughter of Emeryk Hutten-Czapski, with her fam-
ily, the Marshal of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (Województwo Małopolskie),
representatives of the Cultural Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture
and National Heritage (MKiDN), the Culture and National Heritage Department
of the Municipality of Kraków, the board of directors of the National Bank of Po-
land, and the Society of Friends of the Emeryk Hutten-Czapski Museum. Among
those present were also many prominent representatives of numismatic circles,
with members of the Honorary Committee: Prof. Stanisław Suchodolski, Prof.
Borys Paszkiewicz, Honorary President of the Polish Numismatic Society Lech
Kokociński, Esq., and many other members of the Polish Numismatic Society,
Professional Numismatists Association, as well as scholars from several universi-
ties and museumsr The guests were welcomed by Zofia Gołubiew, the Director
of the National Museum in Kraków. The inauguration provided the opportunity
for the presentation of the two publications on the subject authored by Jarosław
Bodzek, Janusz Nowak, Agnieszka Perzanowska, and Mateusz Woźniak: Do-
