of paintings, prints, and drawings.4 Kabruris collection was bequeathed to the
Danzig authorities upon his death in 1814, housed in the years thereafter
in several temporary locations, and ultimately transferred to the new Munici-
pal Museum (now called the Muzeum Narodowe) in 1872.5 From among the
four drawings attributed to Schluter in the Kabrun-collection catalogue, only
these two have survived the turmoils and tragedies of World War II including
confiscation by the Soviet-army and revindication to Poland in 1956; while
the other “...Zwei Blatter Frontispice. Feder...” listed in the catalogue unfor-
tunately did not.6 The fact that these Gdańsk drawings may belong to Andreas
