GROUND PLANE.

It is parallel with the Horizontal Plane, but apparently
proceeds from the bottom line of the picture, or from
the feet of the observer, towards the Horizontal Plane,
in which it appears to be lost in infinite distance. It is
at right angles to the Perspective and Vertical Planes.

It is the Plane on which objects stand, and from
which their height is reckoned.

The Lines in Perspective are
THREE.

HORIZONTAL LINE.

XT is the termination or edge, the only visible part, of
the Horizontal Plane ; and is parallel with the Perspective
Plane.

PERPENDICULAR LINE.

It is the edge, or only visible part, of the Vertical Plane;
and is parallel with the Perspective Plane.
