Sabin XVII, 428. Fine copy of the several times and in different languages

accuses Rochefort in the preface to his „Histoire generale des Antilles” 1667 of having
taken the greatest part from his work. Rochefort was clergyman of the French protest,
church in Rotterdam and was living several years in West-Indies. Sabin refuses the
opinion, that the author Cesar de Rochefort, a french jurist was, what the
others bibliographers believed.
The second vol. was published without the name of the author with this title:
Histoire Morale des Iles Antilles de 1’Amerique ... in the same year. The edition is
dedicated to the Archbishop of Lyon Camille de Neufville.
