Very fine copy of this excellent printing. It is an exceedingly rare
Americanum. Sauromanus or Sauermann out of the Silesian gentry was am-
bassador of the German emperor at Rome (J 1527). At the end of this oration the
author says of American idolatry: Unde tandem et aliquando omnes ille terrarum
idolatre gentes atque ez quas nobis recenti nuper antipodum
in orbe pro eximia dementia tua.... patefecisti, certatim salutare Religionis
nostre nomen suscipientes, Te unum te verum omnium conditorem atque principem
sint agnituri.
