the outstanding political figures of the XHIth century ; these “letters” are our most
precious source for the history of the Emperor’s court at Palermo and at Naples and
for his struggle with the Papacy. — Ownership stamp on title. Of the pages 81/82
is a little piece torn off, in the margins some stains, otherwise a good copy.
