Lowndes IX, 2495. Very scarce work, not included in the works of the
author in 4 vols. The Ivs. 3, 29, 74 and 120 relate to India. —1 Stapleton (1535—1598)
a Catholic theologian, was obliged to leave England, because as canon he refused
Queen Elisabeth the oath of supremacy. Later he lived at Louvain, where he distin-
guished himself as a polemical writer against Protestantism, particularly Calvi-
nism. — On title an owner’s name. Slightly water-stained in the margins, and
also browned, otherwise a good copy.

Lowndes V, 2538. The plate A is wanting. Plate E represents in 2 parts the

Dutchman. An interesting report. Good copy.
