LESSON VIII.

To draw a House in oblique Perspective.

Let A B be the base line, C D the horizontal line,
and E the centre of the picture, from which draw the
perpendicular line E X equal to the length of the picture.

From «, the nearest corner of the house, draw the
vanishing line a D for the bottom of that side of the
house; continue this line till it touch the base line in
the point 1, from which erect the perpendicular line
1 b, and mark off upon it, the distance from 1 to c
equal to the actual height of the house ; draw the
vanishing line c D for the top of the house, and
then between the lines 1 D, c D, from the point a
draw the line a d, wdiich will give the apparent height of
