The " village idyll " was
designed by Eugen Kirch-
ner, whose caricatures in
the " Fliegende Blatter"
have met with great
success. He has imagined
a scene in some out-of-the-
way place, where a motor-
car has just made its first
appearance. The old and
the young alike are filled
with surprise and awe.

and with a real door; an ideal arrange-
ment " to play house " in. In homes
