Dziewiąty numer rocznika „Sztuka Ameryki Łacińskiej” jest poświęcony
problematyce śmierci, zarówno w sensie realnym, jak i symbolicznym, oraz jej
różnorodnym wyobrażeniom, a także strachowi przed nią. Tym, co wyróżnia
go na tle dotychczasowych numerów, stanowiąc jego niewątpliwy walor, jest
interdyscyplinarne ujęcie tematu, które zaowocowało wyjściem poza sztuki
plastyczne i otwarciem się na takie zagadnienia, jak: związki tekstu z obrazem,
śmierć i jej wyobrażenia w ujęciu antropologicznym i historycznym oraz obra-
zowanie śmierci, terroru i przemocy w literaturze.
El noveno número del anuario “Arte de América Latina”, que presentamos
aquí, es un tomo monográfico dedicado al tema de la muerte, el miedo a la
muerte y sus diversas representaciones, en el sentido tanto real como simbó-
lico. Lo que lo distingue de los números anteriores, siendo sin duda su gran
ventaja, es el enfoque interdisciplinario, que excede los estudios de las artes
plásticas, extediendo su interés también en las relaciones entre la imagen y el
texto, la problemática de la muerte y sus representaciones en las investiga-
ciones antropológicas, históricas y literarias.
The ninth volume of “Latin America Art” yearbook is devoted to the issue
of death, both in the real and symbolic sense, as well as the fear of death and its
various images. What makes it special is its interdisciplinary approach. This
time the articles examine not only the visual arts, but also relationship between
a text and an image, death and its images in anthropological and historical
terms, as well as depiction of death, terror and violence in literature.
