fans lieu ni date en caractères gothiques fur vélin pet. in-fol.,
& qui ferait à lui feul un précieux chef-d'œuvre de l'ancienne
typographie allemande, fi les marges du livre n'étaient encore
illultrées de deffinsà la plume des deux grands maîtres A.
Durer {-p. by) & Lucas Cranach. — Le fujet de la page (la 35'
verfo) que nous extrayons elU'Annonciation & fe rapporte au
texte inclus dans le cadre intérieur : Hore intemerate virginis
Marie &c. Elle porte le monogramme d'Albert Durer, ainiî
que la date 1515. (Fac-fimile^) — Nous propofant de com-
pléter cette intérefîante collection, qui paraîtra ainfi pour la
première fois en Typographie, & dont l'ornementation eft
empruntée au règne végétal, nous confacrerons la place des
textes à des fujets analogues. Nous reviendrons fur VHerbier

Ofall the treafures contained in the king of Bavaria's rich
library in Munich, the mort invaluable is unqueftionably the
only exifting copy ofa Book of Latine Hours, printed on vé-
lum, in Gothiccharafters, without date or place, and forming
a fmall in-folio. This work, which would be alone a precious
mafters pièce of the ancient German typography, is illuftrated
on the margins of the pages with pen-drawings from the
two niaflers A. Durer (p. 5y) and Lucas Cranach. -—The
fubjectof the page (the 35<h vero) taken from this book is
Anunciation, and is related to the Latine text included in the
interior frame : Hore intemerate virginis Marie, etc. It bears
Albert Durer's monogram and the date 1515. {Fac-fimile.) —
We will complète thisinterefting collection which will appear
for the very firft time in Typography, and the ornamentation of
which is borrowed from the vegetable kingdom ; we al fo intend
to appropriate the place of the texts to analogousfubjects. We
