for them, which they found more troublesome than is reported of
the Jackanapes's caught by such Apimness; so that at lail they were
left to their Liberty: These are such Carriages as their Women tra-
vel in, and those Passengers that wander the Descrts of Arabia,

Several new Caravans on this Road have been lately overturn'd by
Earthquakes, and all along they cry for Rain, both to fill their Wa-
ter-ssores, and to bedew the Earth,- which is most rmserably parch-
ed till we come to Bemru', in whose Plain, Wheat and Barley are
newly mow'd; but the Oyl-Seed for Lamps were standing. In the
Thickets aiong the Brooks sides grew Bitter-Sweet, and among the
Corn such Weeds as cli03k ours in England.
Cbawtaik is become famous, not only for its new ana1 spacious Cara- a notable
van, but sor an Exploit lately committed on the Rbadars or Watch Robbery at

sore they set upon the Rbadars as they were on Duty in the Caravan

more outright, but promised Mercy to the rest if they did notresist;
Four more were wounded in making their Escapc, and died of their
Wounds, before they could gain Gerom.
Thus having secured their Prey, they carried it off" in the sight of
Four hundred Men, faint-hearted and timerous Companions, only
one Armenian discharging a Gun; not one else, cither Merchants or
Cowardly
