Woodcut from No. 1232a. Dlugosch. Cracow 1511.

covered with blind-stamped brown calf (rather wormed and
damaged), clasps gone. 500.—
Proctor 10.959. Panzer D. A. I, no. 523. Hase, Koberger no. 216. Klemming, Birgitta-Liter. 42.
Extremely rare. This is the first complete German edition of this Saint’s Visions,
and is usually ascribed to the year 1500. The colophon however, which our copy wants, nearly half
of last leaf unfortunately being cut off, reads “im andern nach tausend funff hundert Jaren ge-
druckt. ..” which seems to imply the date 1502 or 1501.
There are together 17 remarkable full-page cuts, freely adapted from the Lubeck edition of
1492, ten of them in compartments, as follows: On title S. Bridget enthroned and giving the Rule

OILHOFER & RANSCHBURG, WIEN, I., BOGNERGASSE Nr. 2.
