A rare XVIth cent, edition of this work, the first edition of which, was published at Mayence
by Peter von Friedberg, in 1494. Johann, called Trittenhemius (1462—1519), was born at Trittenheim
near Trier. He was a poet, philosopher, mathematician, historian and theologian. We quote some
chapters of this book: De vita sacerdotum ad Nicolaum Mernicensem tractatus. De fugiendo consortio
mulierum. De remedio contra Luxuriam, etc.
Somewhat stained, the right upper corner of the title is cut away without loss of text.
