Pantheus gibt verschiedene Prozesse zur Reinigung u. Prüfung d. Goldes an u. befaßt sich vor allem
mit den s. Zt. in Venedig industriell verwertbaren Stoffen. U. a. gibt er auch eine Methode zur Her-
stellung von Spiegeln an. Besonders interessant sind die schönen Holzschnitte (Apparate, Öfen, Pressen,
Waagen), vor allem d. doppelblgr. Ansicht v. Venedig.
Pantheus was an Italian priest who devoted much of his Um? to chemical research. In this work he
gives different processes for the refining of gold and deals wiin various chemical preparations, includ-
ing the manufacture of an alloy for mirrors.
The title is printed in four colours (yellow, green, red and black.) The work also contains a remarkable
doublepage woodeut view of Venicc besides the cuts of furnaecs etc. — Fine copy.
