are short; but the application of them will require some

The Drawing, page 59, should first be gone through,

very readily performed. Then let the rules be given, and
the Drawing be copied on another paper, the size of the
engraving ; and once more after this, on a different scale.
Copy in the same manner from a new and easy subject
prepared for the purpose ; proceeding orderly by the rules
till they are well remembered and expeditiously applied;
which, with attention, may be acquired in as short a time
as the former Section.

as soon as the last Section is understood. Chuse the
most distinct, plain, easy subject: Of buildings for ex-
ample ; let the rules direct all the process, and let it be

Proportion, Position, and General Lines only are the
