Drawing from nature is much to be recommended ;
the pleasure is encreased by every effort, and the facility
will soon reconcile to a farther continuance of it, even
though at first it may be incommodious.

The manner is the same generally as described before;
but a few particulars in addition will make it perfectly
understood.

Process of a Drawing from Nature.

A LANDSCAPE.

RULE FIRST.

Jl 1RST determine precisely how far the view should ex-
tend : as thus, // begins at such a tree, and continues to
such an object. The breadth of the picture thus given,
chuse the height it must be, as thus; from such a mark
on the ground at my foot, to such a distance in the sky,
(or on an object, if the subject presents one) fhall be
