year since 1968 and contains not less than 64
pages. The subscription price is 53 Danish
Kroner. Paid in another currency a fee equivalent
to 25 D.Kr. should be added, postage not in-

Articles and material for inclusion in Notes and
News offered for publication in future issues of
Tools and Tillage should be typewritten and
sent to one of the editors. Books for reviews
should be sent to the address below. All contribu-
tions to Tools and Tillage are copyright. The
editors are not responsible for opinions expressed
by contributors.

The Journal acts as a guide to research in every aspect of the subject, not only the implements
themselves, but also field systems and methods of cultivation and cropping, including linguistic as well
as functional aspects. Its coverage is from the beginnings of cultivation to the industrial era in every
part of the world. The primary emphases is on material relating to Europe and such areas as have
influenced or have been influenced by Europe, by contacts within recent centuries, and with regard to
the historical development of agriculture through its actual practice and through written theory. In its
way Tools and Tillage can consider, inter alia, links between China and Europe, and between Europe
and the New World.
Die Zeitschrift wirkt als illustrierter Fiihrer durch alle Sparten der einschlagigen Forschung und
behandelt nicht nur die Gerate selbst, sondern auch die Felderwirtschaft und die Struktur der Felder
sowie sprachliche und funktionelle Aspekte Die ins Auge gefaBte Zeitspanne reicht von den Anfangen
des Bodenbaus bis zur Industrialisierung in alien Teilen der Erde. Das Schwergewicht liegt auf Stoff mit
Bezug auf Europa und solche Gebiete, die Europa beeinfluEt haben oder von ihm durch Kontakte in
spaten Jahrhunderten beeinfluBt wurden, und zwar im Hinblick auf die geschichtliche Entwicklung
des Ackerbaus durch seine faktische Ausiibung und die schriftliche Darstellung seiner Theorie.
Hierunter kann Tools and Tillage beispielsweise Verbindungen zwischen China und Europa und
zwischen Europa und der Neuen Welt in Betracht ziehen.
