The History of Polish Posters Feb. 7 - April 30, 1997

An exhibition held in the New Gallery at the Poster Museum presented the
history of Polish posters from its beggining around 1900 until recent days.

Waldemar Swierzy Posters. March 1 - April 30, 1997

Exhibition of works by this student of Józef Mroszczak, born in 1931,
a graphic artist and one of the greatest Polish poster artists. Maria Kurpik was
the curator of the exhibition.

Kiyoshi Awazu in Poland. June 4 - Sept. 21, 1997

An exhibition of works by the Japanese artist born in 1929, an illustrator,
graphic artist, photographer and filmmaker. Magdalena Ciesielska was curator
of the exhibition.

Mexican Posters. Oct. 17 - Nov. 9, 1997

An exhibition of posters presented at the international competition “America
500 years later” held in Mexico City and donated to the Poster Museum thanks
to the Embassy of Mexico in Warsaw. Magdalena Ciesielska was the curator
of the exhibition.

The Salon of Polish Posters. Review of the newest Polish posters. Curator
Jaroslaw Wojciechowski Oct. 18 - Nov.23, 1997

French Posters and Graphic Art. Nov. 15 - Dec. 14, 1997
An exibition of posters, books, illustrated magazines and advertising prints
designed by French artists in the last ten years. It was organised in collaboration
with the Institut Français in Warsaw; Dorota Sobczyk was its curator.

The 8th National Exhibition of Calendars. It was the 8 th Polish calendars
competitione display. Jan. 16 - 22, 197

180 Years of the Securities Bond Market in Warsaw. April 16 - June 30, 1997
An exhibition organized jointly with the Securities Bond Market S. A. in
Warsaw on the occasion of its 180th anniversary. On display were views of
the various headquarters of the market (drawings, watercolors, prints and
photographs), photographs of the individuals involved with this Warsaw
institution, press clippings, satirical drawings, as well as bonds lent from the
collections of the market itself and by the Warsaw City Archives, the National
Library, the Print Room of the Warsaw University Library, the Institute of Art
of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Warsaw Museum of Printing, the
Museum of Flistory of the City of Warsaw, and the Museum of Caricature.
Danuta Jackiewicz prepared the exhibition in collaboration with Maciej
Widawski; Danuta Jackiewicz edited the catalogue published by the Market.
