Buddha. ‘Accordingly’ he left Kapilvastu and
reached the Blessed One whom he presented
with his father’s letter. The message contained a
wish that his aged father wanted to see him once
more before he died.
Buddha converted the messenger, but al-

inform the king that when he himself came he

Kaludayi delivered the message as he had
received it, and Buddha, after a few days, left for
Kapilvastu with all his disciples. (517 B. C.)
