An extraordinary ri ch and înteresting collection of very fine views of towns and
remarkable buildings, as they existed in the United Kingdom about the beginning
of the 18th. Century, drawn after nature and carefully engraved by Luyken,
Mulder, Gorée, Stoependaal, Allard and other masters, and accompanied by maps
and représentations of costumes, manners and customs. This work froms a part
(vols. 10—12) of the ,,Galerie agréable du Monde,“ a large and magnificent sériés
of views taken from the principal towns of ail countries and published about
1730 by Pieter van der Aa in 66 volumes, printed in a limited number, and now
very seldom offered for sale.
