HE VICTORIAN GALLERY
SUGGESTION.
So much, and such widespread, interest
has been aroused by our suggestion that a
Victorian Gallery of Art should be established to
commemorate the long reign of the Queen, that it is
now proposed to call a meeting for the discussion
of the project and to arrange working details. As
soon as the place where, and the date at which,
this meeting will be held are decided, every one
who may have opinions to offer on our suggestion
will be notified by circular, and will be invited to
consider what form the Victorian (lallery should
take. Meanwhile, we should be glad to receive
from all sympathisers expressions of their willing-
ness to serve on the committee which would have
to draw up the necessary appeal for public support,
and to put the proposition on such a basis that
its future development would be assured. It is
important that this committee should cover as
wide a ground as possible, as the co-operation not
only of avowed supporters is desired, but also that
of all the many sympathisers who have suggestions
to offer and criticisms to make.
