considerable approval 1, to take the Idolino from the sphere
of Polyldeitos, where it had usually beeil assigned, and give
it to Myron. It is not quite clear that he still holds to this
view, since in speaking raore recently of the Sabouroff bronze
statue 2 (Sabouroff Coli. Vol. I Plates 8-11) he has brought the
Idolino into the closest connection with the Parthenon sculp-
tures, which Studniczka3 interprets as a silent withdrawal of
his formet· opinion so beautifully set forth.

It is certainly not without interest that the Corinth head has
some very evident resentblances to that of the Idolino. It
would be quite wrong to fail to call attention to these resem-
blances. The general resemblance in the shape of the heacls
