Cette planche semble justifier plus que toutes les autres de
J. Bérain (pages 31,102) le titre de dessinateur du Boy accordé
à l'artiste. Elle fait voir le soin qu'on apportait à l'exécution des
nombreux Accessoires employés dans les Divertissements du roi,
représentations scéniques dans lesquelles le royal personnage,
les princes du sang et les courtisans ne dédaignaient pas de
figurer en personne. — Spécimens de Masses, Marteaux et
Haches d'armes, Casques, Coiffures et Carquois turcs, Gouver-
nails, Tridents, Couronnes navales, Vases, Instruments de

This plate justifies more than any other the title of Draughts-
man of the King given to its author, J. Bérain (pages431, 102).
It shows the care with which were executed the numerous Pro-
perties employed in the King's Entertainments. Thèse were
scenical représentations in which the courtiers, the princes of
royal biood, and even the king himself appeared. — Spécimens
of maces, hammers and battle-axes, helmets, Turkish head-
gears and quivers,helms, tridents, naval coronets, vases, music-
instruments. — Engraving by Daigremont. — (Fac-similé.)
