the environment of Polish artists active in Paris in the first two decades of this
century and their connection with French artistic life, through the example of
the distinguished sculptor A.-E. Bourdelle, the creator of the Mickiewicz
monument in Paris. The exhibition featured 88 paintings and sculptures by
Polish artists, as well as archival material lent by institutions such as the Centre
Georges Pompidou, the Musée Bourdelle, the Polish Library in Paris, and
private collections in Poland and abroad. Elzbieta Grabska conceived the
exhibition and authored the catalogue, while Barbara Brus-Malinowska of the
National Museum was the curator.

Terra Cotta Icons from Cinica. March 20 - April 2, 1997
An exhibition prepared by the Museum of Macedonia in Skopje displayed terra
cotta relief items found in Vinica in Macedonia, dating from the 5tfl and 6th
centuries A. D., called icons by their discoverers. Also included in the
exhibition were rings, bracelets, sewing utensils, and coins. The curators were
Cone Krstewski and Kosta Balabanov from the Macedonian Museum in
Skopje, and Bozena Mierzejewska from the National Museum in Warsaw.

This exhibition was mounted for the 10th anniversary of the death of one of

the most distinguished Polish painters of the second half of the 20th century.
