Almost the entire output of the artist was on display: 126 paintings, 170
drawings, 6 tapestries created from his designs, and theater costumes, lent from
the collections of public institutions such as the National Museums in Warsaw,
Wroclaw, Cracow, Poznan, and Kielce, the Regional Museums in Torun,
Tarnów, and Bydgoszcz, the Museum of Central Pomerania in Slupsk, the
Museum of Warmia and Mazuria in Olsztyn, the Regional Museum in Zielona
Gòra, private collections, and the family of the artist. Anna Zakiewicz conceived
the exhibition and was the author of its catalogue, which contained texts by
the artist’s son, Wawrzyniec Brzozowski, as well as critics and historians of
contemporary art, including the artists’s friend Mieczyslaw Porçbski.

This was the first broad-scale exhibition presenting the history of Polish
graphic art from its beginnings to the present. More than 660 works were
