Sample of oak-heartwood (quercus sp.) from an
arrow-shaped ard share found in the Hoisted
stream during deepening operations in 1980. it is
in Bramminge parish near the church, Ribe coun-
ty, SW Jutland. The sample is corrected for the
isotope fractioning and the dating given in con-
ventional C-14 years and calendar years after the
M. Stuiver calibration curves in “Radiocarbon”
1982.

Eichen-Kernholzprobe (Quercus sp.) von einer
pfeilfbrmigen Arl-Schar, gefunden bei Ausbag-
gerungsarbeiten im Wasserlauf von Hoisted im
Jahr 1980, in der Gemeinde Bramminge in der
Nahe der Kirche, Kreis Ribe, SW-Jiitland. Die
Probe wurde in bezug auf die Isotopenverteilung
berichtigt, und die Datierung in konventionellen
C-14-Jahren und Kalenderjahren nach den Kali-
brationskurven von M. Stuiver in »Radiocarbon«
1982 angegeben.

Wood taken from branch which was part of a
drainage- and irrigation system made in connec-
tion with the growing of sweet potatoes at Kuk
Tea Research Station, Papua New Guinea. The
sample stems from profile ditch B 11, which cuts
one of the irrigation ditches. Sample taken under-
neath an ash layer (Z) and just above a paddle-
shaped wooden spade.1 Submitted by P.J.

Holz entnommen aus einem Rohr, das Teil eines
Entwasserungs- und Berieselungssystems war,
das in Verbindung mit dem Anbau von Siifikar-
toffeln in der Tee-Forschungsstation Kuk in Pa-
pua Neu Guinea angelegt wurde. Die Probe ent-
stammt dem Profilgraben Bll, der einen der
Berieselungsgraben schneidet.
Probe entnommen unterhalb einer Aschen-
schicht (Z) und unmittelbar oberhalb eines pad-
delfbrmigen Holzspatens. Vorgelegt von P.J.
