Während des 1. Quartals des Studienjahres
1962/63 (Oktober — Dezember) gab der
Schweizer Graphiker Josef Müller-Brockmann
einen Gastkurs an der HfG. Er unterrichtete
die Studenten des 1., 2. und 3. Studien-
jahres der Abteilung Visuelle Kommunikation
im Rahmen der Abteilungsarbeit, und weiter-
hin in dem Fach ‘Kommunikationsmittel’.
During the first term of the academic year
1962/63 (October — December) the Swiss
graphic designer Josef Müller-Brockmann
gave a guest-course at the HfG. He taught
first, second and third year students of
the Visual Communication Department within
the framework of the department’s practical
design-work and also on the subject of
’means of communication’.
Im Laufe des 1. Quartals des Studienjahres
1962/63 (Oktober—Dezember 1962) fanden an
der HfG folgende Mittwochseminare statt
(in diesen Seminaren werden zumeist von
externen Referenten aktuelle Themen von
allgemeinem Interesse behandelt): ’Das Pro-
blem der Mitteilung im Theater’ von Claus
Bremer, Ulm; ’Industrial Design und Ökono-
mie’ von Dr. Augusto Morello, Mailand; Neue
Aspekte von Instrumental- und elektronischer
Musik’ von Mauricio Kagel, Köln; ’Die Orga-
nisation von Forschung, Entwicklung und
Design in den USA’ von Horst Rittei, Ulm;
’Widerstand und Verrat’ von Rolf Schrörs, Bonn.
In the course of the first term of the study
year 1962/63 (October — December 1962) the
following Wednesday Seminars were held
at the HfG. In these seminars guest speakers
are usually invited to speak on topics of
general interest:
’The Problem of Communication in the Theatre’
guest speaker Claus Bremer, Ulm; ’Industrial
Design and Economics’ guest speaker
Dr. Augusto Morello, Milan; ’New Aspects of
Instrumental- and Electronic Music’ guest
speaker Mauricio Kagel, Cologne; ’The Orga-
nization of Research, Development and Design
in the USA’ speaker Horst Rittel, Ulm;
’Resistance and Treason’ guest speaker Rolf
Schrörs, Bonn.
Film in Ulm
Mit Beginn des Studienjahres 1962/63 wurde
der Sektor Film/Fernsehen der Abteilung
Visuelle Kommunikation an der HfG stark
ausgebaut, indem man eine Reihe von Gast-
dozenten zur Mitarbeit heranzog, unter ihnen
Bernhard Dörries, Alexander Kluge, Edgar
Reitz, Harro Sentt, Detten Schleiermacher, die
aus dem Kreis der sogenannten ‘Oberhausener
Gruppe’ bzw. der Gruppe ‘Junger deutscher
Film’ kommen. In einer der folgenden
Nummern werden wir ausführlicher über
Ziele und Unterrichtsmethoden aus dem
Sektor Film/Fernsehen berichten.
The Film in Ulm
With the beginning of the study year 1962/63
the film and television section of the
Visual Communication Department at the
HfG has been considerably extended, in
enlisting the assistance of a number of guest
lecturers, among them Bernhard Dörries,
Alexander Kluge, Edgar Reitz, Harro Senft,
Detten Schleiermacher, from the so-called
‘Oberhausener Gruppe’, or the so-called
‘Young German Film Group’. In a later issue
we will publish a more detailed report
on the aims and methods of instruction in
the Film/Television Section.
