poznanie na celkom osobnostnú formuláciu civilistic-
kého maliarskeho názoru. V istom zmysle tým od-
povedal na všeobecné generačná trendy a zároveň
ich ovplyvnil. Jeho nová orientácia sa velmi skoro
dočkala aj zaslúženého ocenenia (GRAND PRIX na
Bienále malby v Kořiciach 1980).

The Young Slovák Painting of the Seventies (A Conflict-Frec Generation?)

This study is designed to set off fundamental con-
ceptual and developmental strata of Slovák painting
of the seventies and early eighties. It assesses the plu-
raliste character of the situation in fine arts, deter-
mined by the pluralistic nature of development, as also
by the participation of several génération strata in
artistic life.
It analyses step by step all aspects of a revival of
expressive tendencies in Slovák painting of the seven-
ties, in contact with European trends and questions
of a rational construction of shape in the works of the
earlier génération. Further, it follows up the ende-

avours tending, in a programmed way, towards a con-
scious contamitation of the intellectual and imaginative
components of an artistic Creative act. As the basic
developmental polarity is here considered to be the
tension between visual and mental perception, both
these being interpreted here from the point of view of
a culmination of hypernoetism of the preceding stage
and as part of a différentiation of the central issue
of the polemics with the visual stereotypes of a perce-
iver of the present times. Special attention is devoted
in this study to the problém of civilism in the work
of the youngest génération.
